Tabi Niki Babouche by Calla
The CALLA Tabi Niki Babouche was created in collaboration with our Korean partners, Unglamouse. The split toe detail is both comfortable and functional, suiting all sizes of feet. Effortless to wear, easy to walk in and extra enjoyable to style!
For every Babouche purchase, we plant a tree with One Tree Planted, helping to reach our goal of carbon neutrality.
A few things to know:
-
The babouches have a leather sole. They can be worn outdoors but we recommend to avoid getting them wet.
-
Babouches are handmade in the souk of Marrakesh, Morocco. Small imperfections are possible and we consider them part of the shoes charm.
-
Fit: The Tabi Niki Babouche fit a little small. If hesitating between two sizes, we recommend taking the larger size.
Paris-based designer, Calla Haynes, grew up in Toronto and studied Fashion Design in New York prior to arriving in Paris.
In Paris, Callas began working in French luxury houses finessing her textile and print design. She launched her namesake label in 2009, and in 2015, she launched "The Boucharouite Project". Her collaborative spirit inspired Callas to seek out artisans in Morocco to explore the space between European Luxury and Berber Craft. The result The Boucharouite Project, focuses on two key themes of Sustainable Design - recycling textiles and supporting traditional craft. This includes a collection of rugs made in collaboration with female weavers, and a collection of Babouche slippers handmade in the souk of Marrakesh using upcycled vintage Berber rugs.
