  • ABOUT THE FABRICS

The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) and Global Recycled Standard (GRS) set the criteria for the third-party certification of recycled materials and chain of custody. The GRS includes a higher (50%) minimum recycled content percentage and additional social and environmental requirements related to processing and chemical use.

Alpaca fiber is the main product of alpaca, valued commercially and industrially for being one of the finest and most luxurious fibers in the world. Alpaca fiber has the following special characteristics:

Non-flammability: The fiber does not burn but is in direct contact with fire. Elasticity and resistance: Alpaca fiber has very good elasticity and resistance, making it comparable to wool and other animal fibers. Hygroscopic property: It absorbs low ambient humidity. Thermal property: It has thermal properties because it has microscopic air bubbles. Thanks to this characteristic, when it is hot it contracts to keep it cool and when it is cold it retains heat. The structure of alpaca fiber makes it behave as an insulator, making it possible to use it in different climatic conditions. Felting: Alpaca fiber has a lower tendency to felt when compared to wool and other animal fibers. Softness: The structure of the alpaca fiber makes it very soft to the touch, comparable to wool 3 to 4 microns finer. Visual texture: Especially for coats, the fabric has an excellent drape, appearance, natural shine and feel, remaining unchanged over time. Antiallergic: Does not contain lanolin.

Wool is a naturally durable fiber and garments can stay in circulation for a relatively long period of time, reducing their environmental footprint. Research has established that woolen products have the potential for several ‘lives’ over 20-30 years.
Wool is one of the world’s most suitable fibers for reuse, extending the lifetime of garments and helping the environment
Choosing long-lasting, readily recyclable woolen garments over other options can reduce the quantity of textiles that ends up in landfill.

Rita Row creates pieces for the modern woman. The line gets its name from its fictional muse "Rita," a woman that's hard-working, free-spirited, and effortless. Working from that inspiration, designers Imma Serra and Xenia Semis combine straightforward, subtly-feminine silhouettes and neutral color palettes for pieces that capture the romance and utility of any highly-coveted, savvy, carefree city girl's closet.

100% of our garments are manufactured on the Iberian Peninsula with 55% locally made in Spain and 45% from sustainable Portuguese partners. All our garments are produced ethically. Those who work in the textile production chain receive a fair wage as well as working in a secure and dignified environment.
