Accumulated inventory of clothing, unused materials like thread. The environmental issues in the fashion industry were worsening as rapidly as the changing trends. It was this concern of Founder, Wang Jong-mi, that sparked the beginning of “PLEATSMAMA”.

Even a meaningful bag made from eco-friendly materials holds no significance if it isn't used. PLEATSMAMA bags feature signature pleated design, ensuring both beauty and use. The knit structure of the pleated bags allows for versatile use and convenient storage when folded. Pleatsmama recycles discarded items such as discarded PET bottles and wasted fishing nets to give them a new purpose. They have also succeeded in commercializing the world's first 100% recycled spandex.

From discovering new uses for discarded PET bottles to repurposing instant meal containers and discarded fishing nets, Pleatsmama continuously searches for value in what’s been left behind. In their latest step toward circularity, they have found a new purpose in corn, and are proud to reintroduce their very first bag, the Shoulder Bag, now reborn in a bio-based material.
